The Heart Care Philosophy
Heart Care Specialist Centre was established in 2016 with a vision of providing high quality personalised cardiac care for the community of Sydney's South West and its neighbouring regions. We have been extremely privileged to be able to work together with our colleagues in the community and in our hospital systems to help in the diagnosis and management of the heart conditions of our patients.
We pride ourselves on being accessible and timely, being capable of accommodating urgent appointments and providing on-site investigations. The demand for our services has seen us outgrow our current premises and as of Jan 2023 we have completed the transition to our brand new, larger offices conveniently located in Canley Vale. The new facility will boost our capacity and allow us to continue to offer comprehensive and timely care.

Cardiology Consultation
The process starts with a detailed discussion about your symptoms and background health issues followed by a physical examination. Further investigations and management strategies will be discussed. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions/discuss outstanding issues.
Echocardiogram
Pain-free and radiation free. Ultrasound waves are used to visualise the structure and functioning of the heart and its valves. The procedure is performed by our respectful sonographers and takes approximately 30 minutes. Reports are issued the same day by our cardiologist.
12-Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Electrodes are placed on your skin, and the electrocardiograph records the electrical activity of the heart muscle. The test is used to assess the heart rate and rhythm, and screen for other forms of heart disease.
24 Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring
A mobile blood pressure monitor is attached to your arm and periodically measures your blood pressure over the course of 24 hours. This monitor is the can aid diagnosis and guide treatment of blood pressure related conditions.
24 Hour (Holter) Monitoring
A small monitor is worn for 24hrs, capturing a continuous ECG tracing during that period. It allows a 24 hour evaluation of the heart rhythm and can aid in the investigation of palpitations, dizzy spells or black outs.
CT Coronary Angiography
Utilising modern CT scanners with ECG gating and intravenous contrast we are able to non-invasively image the heart and its arteries in under 1 heartbeat. It is helpful in excluding significant blockages in the coronary arteries. *Performed at Spectrum Radiology, reported by Dr David Tran
Exercise ECG
(Stress Test)
Non-invasive, functional test to assess for coronary artery disease/arrhythmia. You will be required to walk on a treadmill whilst we continuously monitor your ECG, blood pressure and symptoms.
Exercise Echocardiogram (Stress Echo)
Stress Echocardiogram is a test to assess heart function under physical stress. It is helpful to assess exertional symptoms. It is conducted in a similar to an Exercise Stress ECG test but with ultrasound images of the heart before and after the exercise protocol. The additional ultrasound dimension increase accuracy of testing.
